2. How we use information
- To reply to your message and to fix errors you report.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To show ads that pay for the site, through Google AdSense.
We share cookie and device identifiers, IP address and browsing activity on our pages with Google and its advertising partners for advertising, including targeted advertising. Server logs are handled by our hosting provider. We do not sell your personal data for money, and we never share your emails with advertisers.
3. Ads and cookies
This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized, depending on your settings and location.
Using cookie data to show ads based on your interests counts as targeted advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws, including Texas law. You can opt out at any time with the choices below.
4. Your ad choices
- Google ad settings: you can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Other ad vendors: you can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Ads will still appear, but they may be less relevant.
- Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: where the law requires it, you are asked for consent through a consent message before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice later through the consent message settings.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act may give you these rights over your personal data:
- Know and access. Confirm whether we process your data and get a copy.
- Correct. Ask us to fix inaccurate personal data.
- Delete. Ask us to delete personal data you gave us or we hold about you.
- Opt out. Opt out of targeted advertising, as described in section 4.
To make a request, email us from the address the request is about and tell us what you want us to do. We do not treat you differently for using these rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word “Appeal” in the subject line. If you are a Texas resident and are not satisfied with the result of your appeal, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.
Data that Google collects through ads is controlled by Google. You can manage it through the ad choices above or your Google account.
6. Children’s privacy
This site is a general audience guide and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Storage, security and links
We keep emails only as long as we need them to reply, fix a reported problem or keep a record of a request, then delete them. We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website or email system can be fully secure.
Our pages link to official government sites, such as the DPS scheduler and TxDMV. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information. Use of this site is also covered by our terms and conditions of use.
